Advice from the Inspection Van
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure — and most of what we find on inspections could have been prevented for a fraction of what it ends up costing. This is what we keep seeing, written down.
Since 2005 we have been inspecting homes and commercial buildings across the Okanagan — these days from Vernon and the North Okanagan down the valley — and that turns into a lot of repeated conversations. Ice damming. Attics that were never ventilated properly. Mold behind a wall nobody thought to check. Strata councils finding out about the roof in the worst possible year. We write it down here so you can deal with it before it becomes a line item on somebody’s report.
Reading about it is the cheap version. If something here sounds like your house, get someone to look at it properly — 3.5 to 4 hours, over 1,500 points checked, and a walkthrough at the end so you hear the findings before you read them.
None of this is a substitute for having someone stand in your attic. Book an inspection, or call or text (250) 212-4025 and describe what is worrying you.
